Wearable, Sculptural and Beautifully Playful

I’m Hannah, and I explore natural forms in both a wearable and sculptural context. Working largely with sterling silver my intention is to make pieces that are graceful yet beautifully playful. Growing up in the foothills of the Blackall Range my work pays homage to warm sunny afternoons, walking along the hinterland and swimming in Kondalila.

Sustainability in design and manufacture are important factors that I consider during each stage of my making process. Each piece is handmade lovingly by myself with the aim of leaving minimal environmental impact. I repurpose recycled silver where possible, contributing towards an art form that is essentially zero
wastage.

I started to develop my practice with the study of silver smithing and jewellery making in 2019, along with lessons taught by my father, a gemologist and avid fossicker of over 30 years.

Today, I create out of a collaborative studio space located in Meajin/Brisbane’s leafy North-West.
I’m continually inspired by the artists/musicians/designers who work alongside me.
